Dragonsong has quite a bit of history really. I'll briefly run through it for those interested. If not find the song at the following link. This is a premix, as it needs a lot of work done yet. Download Dragonsong here The initial burst of inspiration occurred early in the morning one day in 1986, just as the sun was rising near a place called Netley Gap Well, not too far from the town which never was, Radium Hill. The sun was swollen by atmospheric distortion and washed out enough to be almost watchable. I thought I could see solar flares reaching out from it and it suddenly seemed that I knew these were dragons dancing in the sun. I wrote a few lines down and finished the poem song a few days later when my desert sojourn had ended. It was named 'Desert Song.' 'Desert Song' (Gary MacLeman - 4th January 1986) Early morning desert run saw them dancing in the sun heard the words slip from their tongues Dragons dancing in the sun Dragons dancing in the sun Did they give secrets away so hard to hold what I heard them say was it chance I went that way Dragons dancing through the day In and out the circles like a dancer in a tune I never was a weaver but I saw the patterns loom guess I'll ride along make it my own song When the sky is only feet above your head when the wind is blowing coldly though your hair when your feet are cut and bloodied from the rocks well you know that I've been there. This song was pretty much Em C D throughout and the new dragonsong is really only aimed at the initial surge of inspiration and not copied, apart from some words, from the above original. I tried to play it in its original form a few times over the years but it never really jelled as a singable in public song at all. In 2006, as I was settling in to my place in Taylors Arm, I used a few simple chords in D, using an open tuning, and arrived at this version. The initial lines are done with notes almost like a slow air. Dragonsong (9-!0 am) 7/6/6 Taylors arm (Written by Gary L.
